Back Story:
Snow was raised by his mother and father, Lila and Shaun River. The two parents were always very neglectful of their four sons, especially towards Snow. However, they constantly attached to his older brother, Laurence River's coat-tails, for being a success in the family, and rich beyond their dreams. Snow was consistently left by himself, to be bullied by his older siblings.
Thus, Snow became a very independent person, and left home from Liverpool, England when he was only 17. He set out for America, illegally immigrating and winding up in Philadelphia. There he met with little success in anything, and ended up completely homeless. Having no way of getting anywhere, even back home, he wandered the streets of Philadelphia for two years.
At age 19, Snow encountered a Philadelphia detective named Adelphia Dagmar. She took him in generously, helping him out of homelessness. Soon, Snow found himself falling in love with her. The two spend a large amount of time with each other, realizing their feelings. After sharing a tender evening together, however, Snow has to part ways with her.
Broken and defeated, Snow finally having managed the money to return to his hometown of Liverpool. When he arrived, however, the town is much different from when he left it three years ago. It has become infested with crime and poverty, and fallen into a state of political dissarray. As well, his brother's have all but dissappeared, and Lila and Shaun have passed away, shortly after Laurence's departure.
He meets a kindly bakery owner named Gabriella Micheals, and her husband Calvin, who offer hospitality and quickly take him in. Finding himself in the good nature of friends, Snow almost thinks himself content. However, when a mysterious young man named Jack appears, and informs the three of a supernatural force known as 'the Creed.' The four set out to stop an evil army of darkness, but Snow belives something is amiss here, and he has no idea how right he is...
Personality:
Snow is shy and reclusive, preferring to stay out of sight and on his own. He has an incerdible sense of family loyalty to his brothers, passed down from Nikolai River, his eldest brother. Despite harboring intense sibling rivalry with all of his brothers, he would do whatever necessary to protect them.
His usual demeanor is strange and, as described by Gabriella, 'eccentric.' He does not socialize well with others, because of a speech problem he has that causes him to speak slowly. In his own words, 'it's not that I don't know the words...it's that I know there are better words...' Usually, his conversations are frustrating and long.
He is strong-willed, but usually tends to follow others' leads because he does not like to be a leader. Generally, he stays out of debates and arguments, fearing it will lead to conflict with those he cares about. As he grows older, his family becomes the most important part of his life, as he looks out for them and cares about their well-being with all his heart and soul.
Snow is not perfect, being extremely arrogant at times. Though he masks it well, he can be big-headed, and this is a weakness. If he believes he is right, he will not back down or think otherwise until thouroughly proven wrong. Because of this, he is prone to blunders in conversation, and saying unmeaningly harmful things about his friends and family.
Snow thinks of himself as somewhat beneath most people, having been told this time and time again by his immediate family. Upon meeting Adelphia, he feels highly unworthy of her love and affection. Even now, married and having children with her, he sometimes finds himself feeling self-loathing and piteous, which can be either annoying or upsetting to his loved ones.
He tries his hardest to be a good father and husband to them, and can be very forceful when they become threatened. His very life has been put on the line several times, simply to protect his family and their affections. Though he doesn't understand it, this proves himself to his family, who know that, despite his short-comings, Snow is a caring man for them.
Fighting Ability:
Snow is a thinker and strategist, not nearly as good a fighter as he is at planning and outwitting his opponents. Usually, he excels in mind games and puzzles. This does not mean he is completely inept at fighting, as he had to defend himself on the streets, and is therefore experienced in some combat. He prefers to use his feet and kicking maneuvers in a fight, something he learned from Laurence as a child.
In his dragon form, which he gains from Adelphia so that he may marry her, he is a fierce, wild fighter, due to the transformation usually being triggered by pain. He cannot stay in dragon form long, however, as it causes him great pain to do so.
Likes/Dislikes:
Snow likes quiet situations, where he can be calm and at ease in silence. Usually, he will remain silent during conversations with more than one person, only interjecting when he has something important to say. However, sometimes, he may grow careless, and say something unintentionally hurtful about or to someone. Therefore, he is cautious of his words even more.
Snow's family is his focus in life, pleasing and taking care of them his primary goal. When someone is upset within the household, it is bound to ripple effect towards Snow, making him feel guilty he cannot do more. Snow enjoys the company his family brings him, despite his desire to be in solitude from most others.
As I like to come up with songs to match the tone of my characters, I find looking for them is pretty fun. :D
